I decided to blog about a great custom hat that I made recently. I usually only put out 1 photo of the hat for everyone to check out but this time I want all the angles covered.
This is a black satin round pillbox hat. I attached a 10 1/2 inch black ostrich feather and a bundle of smaller black feathers to the back seam of the hat. I used both a machine and very intricate hand stitching on this. (as I do for most hats and fascinators.) To make the back of the hat just a tiny bit more cute I made a chartreuse small bow. I used some very beautiful emerald green VINTAGE birdcage veiling to sweep across the face. The lining is made of a great green cotton material with black multi-sized black polka dots. Black grosgrain ribbon lines the inner rim of the opening. A very small elastic strap is sewn into the inside of the lining so the hat may attach to the head with ease and disappears into the hair.

One of my best friends in the world is suffering from a major kidney disease and is in critical need of a transplant.

Lately Brandy has been going to dialyses 3 days a week and is only able to work 1 day a week due to sickness, treatments, and doctors visits.

I met Brandy when we helped form Oklahoma's first Burlesque revival Troupe in 2003. We clicked immediatly and have been wonderful friends ever since.

As long as I have known her she has had health issues due to her disease.

This disease is called Chronic Nephritis. She was diagnosed as a child at age 11.

Brandy is currently searching for a living doner to kindly give her a chance at a better and more healthy life.

Yesterday I did a very fun and refreshing photoshoot with MissFit Photo.
When I get a chance to work with Kitty I always have a great time. WE laugh hysterically and share stories while getting lots of work done at the same time.

The beginning of my day was a bit rough.
If you follow me and pay attention you may notice that I have a hard time sleeping normally. If I have to wake up earlier than I do on a regular basis I don't sleep because I am so paranoid about waking up and getting everything done on time. THEN driving in LA and making it as promised. (which tends to be a bitch in Los Angeles.)
Anyhow, I packed all my things..or so I thought..and made it to Kitty's only 5 mins late!
WOOOOO!
I plop myself down on her floor and begin to unpack my bag of goodies to discover that I FUCKING FORGOT MY BAG OF MAKEUP AND HAIR SUPPLIES!!!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

I freaked out.

(breath deep)

Luckily I was curling my hair and putting on my foundation and poweder at the same time so I had that done when I arrived.
Since Kitty is one of the few female photographers that I have the pleasure of working with she had some makeup on site.
I managed to do the rest of my look with a q-tip and my fingers.
hahahaha.
The whole shoot was ghetto style. Clamps were failing so safty pins were used and so on...

Kitty tied me up in several different positions. She even put me in a straight jacket!!
Somehow I managed to make that photo look cute...don't ask me how. Perhaps it was the heart fabric we were shooting against..maybe not.

Long story shorter, the shoot was badass and I had a blast.

I was also informed that she published me in her book "Photography My Way." I am VERY excited to be a part of her visions!!

Rhinestoning your world.

Alright.
It seems that I have caught some major attention with the idea that I can rhinestone.
Tis true. I can rhinestone whatever you'd like.. Bras, corsets, shoes, skirts, panties, phone covers, blah, blah, blah.
I really enjoy this kind of work.

There are a couple of ways of going about this but
I think this would be the easiest-

Make a budget. Decide how much you are willing to spend on stones and labor. (Keep in mind I have to inhail some toxic glue all day to get them to stick. This glue is called E6000)
You can go online and order all the matierials and send them to me with whatever you need to sparkle. There are a couple of sites that you can choose from. You also need to decided if you want them to be the best rhinestones (Swarovki) or something cheaper. I prefer the stones to be rose flatbacks.

Consider your color scheme. I have a long history in color theory and psychology (over 12 years) so if you are not sure we can talk about it.

I charge by the hour for labor.

Once the package is shipped to me, I will charge for the labor and the shipping amount to get it back to you. Product will NOT be shipped back untill payment is recieved. I will only accept paypal.

This is one of a few images in this series that is going to be published in the special Halloween edition of Giuseppina Magazine.
I have been waiting to be able to release this image for a little while now. I sat through over 6 hours of makeup and shot with Sam from S H Photography for an hour or so to be able to bring this FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC images to all of you!!!!!!
Leah Vautrot and Poffoman FX worked hard to make me look beautiful and ghastly at the same time. I believe we achieved everything that we were going for. I am lucky enough to have amazing friends that are able to help me achieve the weirdest ideas from the inner workings of my horror obsessed mind.
I am not quite sure when this issue will be out for sale but as soon as I know, you will too!!!

Bettie Page A Tribute Book by Michael Enoches

Heeeey!!! I am back. My comp was down for a long time but I am back online now.

Recently I visited Tulsa, performed, took my Grandmother on a vacation, went back to Tulsa (aka Hell) and finally made it back to LA.
If you know me, you know that this trip was fucking crazy. EVERYTHING that could have gone wrong, did. Bottom line.
As you all know, I am terrible at typing. So I am going to share a few things with you.
First of all, I performed with Dr. Squealsgood on one of the nights in Tulsa. During this performance my corset didn't come off, my Brother's and photographer/web designer's windows got smashed and several important things stolen.
Here is one of the few photos that servived the break in.
(this is right as I am discovering that my laces are in knots and not coming apart.)

Ok. So I know I normally "Vlog" or whatever the hell you call it but I feel like typing this one out.
I am moving into a new apartment tomorrow (upstairs, so it's not REALLY moving) and it made me realize what I have done so far since I have been living in LA.

I had to step away from the boxes of little horror trinkets and shoes to put these feeling out in the world.
I feel proud of myself.
I moved to the "big city" and I think I am doing pretty ok.
I am not homeless. Ha.
I am moving in with a wonderfully supportive friend of mine.
I have an amazing boyfriend, whom I care for more than most. He is my best friend.
I finished school. (Take that people who told me my crazy ways would never take me anywhere!!)
I have been working with actors and musicians that I have admired since I can remember.
It is all pretty unreal to me.

This is just the tip of the iceberg.
My life is just beginning at age 25.

I just got off the phone with my little sister, Aurora, and we were talking about moving on to bigger and better things.

Perusing this life style and my dreams have never been a difficult thing for me.
It never really took much thought.
Most of this "big move" has been completely organic and fluid to me.
I never struggled with leaving Oklahoma and the major changes that I encountered when I came here.
I craved the change more than anything in my life.

I cannot believe what I have done in the past year.
In early April it will be the 1 year anniversary of the day my little sister went into the hospital for the first time out of those horrific 3-4 months.

She came out on top.

She is a more beautiful and stronger person than she EVER was.
Being there for here was intense and hard.
Honestly, one of the most difficult things I have done.
I told myself if she didn't get better than I was going to put my life on hold and stay with her until she was better.
BUT she got better...
And I moved away.

I guess I am not really sure where I am going with all of this rambling.

It just goes to show that amazing things happen everyday.

To all of my family and friends who have always supported me,
I thank all of you and everything that you do for me everyday. Even if I am not with you, you are with me.
Lots of you are tattooed on my right arm...and for those of you that are not. You will be soon.

I am moving in about one month and cannot believe it.
These last couple of months have been hard but successful.
If you may not have known, my little sister has been terribly sick with problems with her kidneys.
She was in and out of the hospital for a couple of months.
Traveling and trying my best to tend to her has been very trying.
Losing lots of sleep and sometimes drowning my mind in a bottles of tequila, she is finally starting to get better.
In realizing how much I need my sister with me always, I decided to tattoo her as a sexy blond pin up nurse on my right arm. It is amazing how comforting it is to have. Now whenever I miss her I look down and know that she is with me always.
I knew it was going to be hard to leave but then all this shit hit the fan.
I feel confident that she will be well enough for me to feel positive about it when I leave town.
My move date is July 18th, the day after the new Harry Potter comes out.
(I know I am a queer. Fucking deal with it)

On a lighter note:
I recently traveled to Las Vegas for the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend.
Best. Show. Ever.
This years competition was amazing.
I feel so inspired.

My trip to LA

I am sitting at my friends house in Studio City, Ca.

I have had one of the most busiest visits EVER here.

I arrived on the 30th of April and I am here until the afternoon of the 10th.

The first Sat night that I was here I attended the Bettie Page art opening by the famous pinup artist OLIVIA with my good friend Jewel of Denile. The night was NUTS!!! I think I might end up in the documentary that they were making about Bettie Page. Jewel and I were both interviewed about what Bettie means to us and how she has affected our lives.

So far I have had 1 failed attempt at a shoot (due to a fucked up zipper and a fucked up camera) with JMV photo.

2 completed shoots with JMVphoto and Ama Reeves. Both really great latex shoots.

2 completed shows. One at the Monday Night Tease and one at a fundraiser for Latino children with cancer.

Both shows were successful! I would like to thank my wonderful friend and fellow Burlesque dancer LA CHOLITA for hooking me up with both of these shows.

I really loved the Monday Night Tease and I cannot wait to perform there again.

I also had a visit/tour with the Westmore Makeup Academy in Burbank.

I am fucking ridiculously happy about this school.

I am still squaring everything away with them and my apartment but basically everything is a done deal. Just need to sign my lease and send in the paperwork.

I will be moving to Studio City mid to late July of 2009.

I will say, the LA traffic is fucking retarded and the amount of fake tits and other body parts here is hilarious but I feel this move will be a suuuper good one for my career and life.

I cannot wait to start creating gore and costumes. AND gory costumes!!

Man o man, I have not posted in a long time. I have done sooo many things that I don't even know where to begin.
I have been to KC..Dallas, and Brooklyn since I last posted.
NYC was AMAZING. I stayed with one of my best friends and designer, S. Rose.
She rules my fucking face off. I met some great people there. Went to the natural history museum and saw metal as fuck dinosaur skeletons.
I went and visited the store of The Baroness, an incredible latex designer. (have great things being made!!)
I went to a Burning Angels porn party.
I visited the most metal bar in the country. Duff's in Brooklyn.
I shot with a photographer named Grant Howe for www.ladylucie.com.

I am about to take a trip to L.A. to do many, many things in a very short time.
I have 2 shows in Hollywood (see my calendar on myspace).
I have 2 latex photoshoots.
I fully plan on going to BatsDay at DisneyLand on May 2nd.
I am visiting my school to take a tour and get everything squared away with my applications and living situation.
I obviously need to find a place to live around the Burbank area...

I am about to open a very new, exciting, and busy chapter of my life.
I am ready.
I am ready to start living for me.
I am ready to start pursuing my dreams to an obsessive point.

I already have the domain, I just know fuckall about web design and whatnot.

My little sister was in the hospital for a very very very long time.
It was super scary. I didn't have time for much, so as you can see...my time to sit and type this out wasn't in the cards for a while.

Shooting in Dallas

I am sitting in my friends chair in Dallas watching [adult swim].

I shot with two really wonderful photographers this weekend.

Friday night I shot with Miss Missy Photography.

When I arrived I was greated by the ever so lovley make-up artist, Deja. Quickly we found out that we have a mutual friend in Tulsa and that we both have an ever lasting love for METAL.

I will say that Deja is my new favorite MUA! She was so funny and talented. She really played on my purple and green obsession!

Miss Missy was absolutely adorable!! I found working with her was so natural. It was like we have worked together a thousand times!

I was lucky enough to get a chance to do a shoot with Courtney Crave and Athena Fatale!

We did a vintage bondage set with some cards and some martinis!!

I cannot wait to share these shots with people but I hear a rumor of it ending up in a magazine so I cannot! Muhahahahaha. Keep your eyes peeled!!

On Saturday I shot with Roy Varga and his team! I have worked with Roy before so I was really excited to shoot with him again. His photos are always so crisp and vibrant. I am HUGE on color and he knows it!! :)

These shots may also end up in some magazines so I cannot share a peek either!!

This weekend has really made me feel accomplished. I think I am finally starting to feel like a model as well as a performer.

Today was "Sunday funday" with my friend Cody. We went downtown to the Dallas Museum of Art. We were wrangled into waiting in lines all over the fucking place to see a crappy "King Tut" exhibit, which was fucking 70 bones, mind you!!!

The King Tut bullshit was soooo crowded that it was difficult to see the interesting bits. Fat men were not paying attention to where they were backing up and kept stepping on me!

Bastards.

Children were everywhere. *shutters*

My favorite parts were the Egyptian headrest and still born coffins adorn in spells from the Egyptian Book of the Dead!

We ventured out into the rest of the museum after and found this strange room that had lights in it that removed all color. It was soooo fucking strange. My emerald hair just looked completely black. My hooker red lips looked black also! There was no color in my tattooes. Everything was just shades and values. It kind of made me sick to my stomach a bit.

You know those amber colored sunglasses that make everything that ugly shade or orange??

That was what it was like...but more intense.

Up early..

Fuck. So like...I am awake and hating it. I suppose I should rather start getting used to being up early all the time.
Lets see..what to talk about.
Well. You may or may not know this, but I am going to be moving to L.A. this summer to go to school.
I feel pretty good about it. (Goddamn I am tired)
My biggest issues with this is
A. Being able to afford living out there
and
B. Being away from my family
B is waaaaay more of a concern than A.
I am so close to my family. I lived in Vegas for a while and hated it. I hated not being able to walk across the street and see what my sister and nephew are up to. I hated not being able to just go to lunch with my mother.
Most people tell me that it is time to move on and grow up.
FUCK. THAT.
What is childish about loving and adoring your family?! Who the fuck says shit like that???

I think once I am actually out there and working towards my goals and dreams that I will feel ok. I already have some good friends from Tulsa that will be living within 30 mins from me.
The whole friend thing isn't an issue for me.

Blah...I guess what I am trying to express is this..
moving to a big fuck-off city without my family is going to be a huge culture shock to me.

I come from a huge family.
Including half and step- I am one of 8 children.
8!!!!
Think about that.
That is a fucking litter! hahaha. You know how dogs are pack animals?
I guess you could say that about me. I am a pack animal! haha.
Well, I have no idea where I am going with this. (didn't get any sleep so now I am just rambling)

Lately..

I haven't blogged in a while, really because I haven't done much this week.
The last 2 days I have been sitting in the tattoo chair and my good friends shop called Soul Style Tattoo. I started a horror film sleeve with a man whom now is in prison, so it has been kind of hard to pick up where he left off. However, the color is turning out wonderfully. I am sure when it is all said and done, I will be happy.

Last week I went and saw Slipknot at the B.O.K center with my friend Danelle. We met up with our friend Sean who is part of the Slipknot team. He gave us VIP passes for the night. He met us at the front doors and took us threw the crowd and dropped us off at the sound booth for the show. While we were standing around looking fantastic, many people came up and were asking us for photos and autographs. One weird redneck guy asked me to sign his face for about 30 mins. JESUS!!
Another guy walked up and said "Are you important or something??"

hahahahahahaha.

All I could say was "Are you?!?!"
He said that he wasn't.

The sound guy said that we looked like 2 skittles in a sea of black! :) :)
The show was really fun. I got a little video of the boys in the sound booth..
We hung out on the bus and then we went to DeadTown for some drinks. We ended up walking around the entire fucking B.O.K. center trying to get to the car. We about froze to death. Latex is not good for the cold Oklahoma weather.

I am going to be hanging out with Sean again when I go to Brooklyn to visit my friend and costume designer S. Rose.

Speaking of that I am also doing a fetish shoot with Kathleen Elizabeth in Brooklyn. We are going to be shooting me in a latex dress from Lady Lucie.

Well now that I cannot get my blog off of bold I will post a pic of Danelle and I at Slipknot. hahahahahahaha

My friend just sent me a link on youtube to a video that she took of the first performance I did of Heart Breaker. This video also includes my little sister jumping on stage to lead the whole venue in a song of Happy Birthday and some of the cast spanking my ass!

Anti-VD show in KC 2/13/09

Well, I was waitng to post about this show in hopes that I would have a video to share with everyone that reads this...but alas, I do not have one yet. So I will post that later if/when I receive one.
I headed up to KC again for a really wonderful show that I was invited to perform in by Miss Lucky DeLuxe when I was doing life modeling for Dr. Sketchy's.
Once again I drove 4 hours (this time ticket free, thank the fuck Christ!!).

I arrived at John's loft where I am always greeted with kindness and hospitality. As soon as I got there I enjoyed a lovely hot cup of Earl Grey and relaxed from the drive.
But not for long.
Seeing how my hair is now mermaid long, it takes me FOREVER to curl it.
I had to start almost right away so that I could look fabulous for the show that evening.
After putting my Burlesque drag make-up on and my hair in curls, with my suitcase packed for the show, John and I went out and enjoyed a yummy meal from a great little Mexican place not to far from the loft.
Arriving at the show after dinner, I went up stairs to meet all the performers involved in the show.
I must say that one of my favorite parts of performing is the backstage debauchery before the show.
Seeing everyone transform into their stage personas is really fun.

During the show I stayed off to the side of the stage so that I could watch everyone perform.
I was really delighted with the cast from KC. Everyone was very entertaining. The crowd was super into it. They LOVE seeing a good Burlesque show!! I mean, who doesn't??

Finally it was my turn to perform. Backstage I was kind of nervous because I had never danced on this stage before.

The moment I step foot on to the stage, it is like I am possessed. I have no controll over what Kira Von Sutra does. (she can be quite that bitch sometimes! HA!)
I performed my Heartbreaker act by Led Zeppelin again. Appropriot for the Anti-Valentine's day theme. When it came time to take off my black corset...well, lets just say I hit a little snag.
I rememeber turning around and saying a little prayer to whom I refer to as the "Burlesque Gods."
"Dear Burlesque Gods, PLEASE do NOT leave me standing here with this corset half off."
In my pleade, they granted my wish.
The corset came off at a really wonderful moment and I went right on with my act.
Infact, I think I went a little bit crazy. I ripped my heart in half and with some influence from Kitten DeVille and Cardinal Cyn, I shimmied my ass all over the fucking place! I fell to my knees and shook on the floor!! I threw glitter EVERYWHERE. I SMASHED my martini glass!
K.V.S. threw a fucking fit!

After I got off stage and made my way threw the crowd, I was stopped by so many people. They were telling me how inspiring my act was. Woman told me that after seeing my performance, they now want to dance and perform!
I couldn't believe it. Even after my struggle with the corset people still loved it!

All in all I had a really wonderful time in KC.
I always do.

If I recieve that video of my struggles/fit on stage, I will post it.

K.V.S. Birthday

So in October I decided that I wanted to start planning a really big show to celebrate my 24th birthday. I asked several of my friends from around the country if they could perform.
I must say that after my birthday weekends (I celebrated for 2!) I feel extremely loved and lucky to have so many talented and beautiful friends that were willing to come from every where for practically nothing!
The line up was wonderful!

The evening kicked off with the wonderful midwest psycho sounds of Brutally Frank.
Mel, the drummer, made the whole place sing me happy birthday! It made me blush. A lot.
Next was Midwest Monster. They really made the crowd shake it! Speaking of shaking it..My dear friend, the amazing Cardinal Cyn, came out and surprised not only me, but the whole place with a really sexy fan dance!!
The Burlesque part of the evening was most definitely entertaining.

I was told that it was the best Burlesque show that Tulsa has ever seen!!!
That was my plan.. :D

For this show, I worked for weeks on creating a new costume and a new routine to Led Zeppelin's "Heart Breaker."
I really feel as a performer that I am finally beginning to understand who I am on stage. To let go and be fearless. I think this act has really brought my performing to new levels. I love it.

Dr Sketchy's KC

On Feb 1st I drove to KC to model for Dr Sketchy's. I was a little skeptical because I have not done life modeling in some years. After getting a speeding ticket and finding out that my tag was expired (d'oh) I found my way to the warehouse. John let me in. The loft they have there is AMAZING. Needless to say i am VERY jealous of it. It is huge. I got ready as guest started to arrive. My first outfit as my Kira Von Kitty was a hit! It was flattering just sitting there as people drew me. Some of the artists gave me their work. I had to choose my favorite drawing. It was terribly difficult! There were sooo many good ones.
During one of my 30 min poses i fell asleep on a mound of red plush pillows.
I rememeber thinking to myself..am i naked?!? Did i put clothes on?? hahaha.
I was only wearing my flower shaped rhinestoned pasties and a blue thong made for me by one of my best friends and designer S. Rose.

The bartender there created a drink in honor of my green obsession called the KiraSutra-tini!!
They made it with Absenth and some other crazy booze that im not quite sure about.
I tasted it. Thing was strooong!
I should get the reciepe and post it so everyone can try it!
By the end of the evening John made me a lovely Italian dinner, watched Pineapple Express and went to bed.

My whole exsperience was really wonderful. I'm very glad i did it!
Lucky DeLuxe asked me to come perform with them for their Anti-Valentine's day party on Friday the 13th. I accepted and will be back in KC in hopes to wow and gain some new fans.

Th' Legendary Shack Shakers

I ventured out the Unit-D on Saturday night to watch Th' Legendary Shack Shakers!
I've been watching this band since i was 18 or so. Every year they come at least once to Tulsa and I've managed to see them every time! Their stage show is sooo full of energy! I'm friends with the bass player Mark! It is always fun to sit and chat with him a bit before and after the show!
